PRENATAL FITNESS - It can be difficult to know how to safely progress with fitness during pregnancy. Women's health physical therapists are highly trained in prescribing exercises that can help strengthen and protect your hip, low back, and core region, especially during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters. Did you know that there are exercises that can better prepare you for delivery? We'll teach you these strategies and much more!
ABC AFTER BABY: CORE FITNESS PROGRAM FOR MOM'S - A gentle, safe re-introduction back into core training using innovative, medically based principles to optimize full recovery after pregnancy. (6 SESSIONS, 2X/WEEK; NEW MOM'S SHOULD BE AT LEAST 6 WEEKS POST DELIVERY.)
•Learn the importance of Alignment, Breath, and Coordination of abdominal muscles following pregnancy or pelvic surgery.
•Begin appropriate exercises to safely strengthen your core muscles.
•Utilize light weights and resistance bands for training
•Receive education on the red flags of pelvic floor dysfunction with expert advice on how to safely return to fitness activities.
POST PARTUM FITNESS FOR THE FEMALE ATHLETE - Offering expert instruction on safe progression back to running, lifting, and high impact training for mom's! Learn how to reconnect with your core to build stability and power through the body to maximize performance and optimize post partum wellness. Equipment may include barbells, dumb bells, TRX, physioball, Bosu ball, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises.
PERI/POST MENOPAUSAL FITNESS - Many physical and emotional changes can occur during the menopausal years, which can affect how our body responds to exercise. Is important to be aware of these changes so that we can better address our bodies needs through our fitness program. Women will learn about the changes that occur during this time in life and the important role of strengthening, cardio, and balance exercises in achieving optimal health. Equipment may include barbells,dumb bells, TRX, physioball, BOSU ball, resistance bands, and bodyweight exercises.
